Furniture repair — what can work again, will work again.

Squeaky hinges, jammed drawers, broken fittings, sagging upholstery. We repair what can be repaired — before you have to buy new.

What furniture repair really means

Most furniture damage isn't total — it's one broken part: a snapped hinge, a stripped screw, a broken drawer runner. Replace the part and the whole piece lives another five years. In 15 years we have built up a stock of standard fittings and can find replacements for most brands within 24 hours.

On upholstered furniture it's often spring-frame breaks, loose joints or torn seams. We can strengthen what's structural. Fabric work we hand off to a specialist partner — honest about where we stop.

Rule of thumb: if the repair is less than 30% of the cost of new and the rest of the piece is sound, it's worth it.

What people ask first

Is repair even worth it?

For solid wood and good cabinet furniture, almost always. For cheap chipboard with damaged structure, often not — we say so honestly.

How fast can you get parts?

IKEA, Pfister, Micasa usually 1–2 days. Older brands from our stock or specialist hardware suppliers.

Do you repair upholstered furniture?

Structural yes (springs, frame, joints). Fabric we hand to an upholstery specialist.

What does a typical repair cost?

Hinge swap CHF 60–90, drawer runner CHF 80–120 inc. parts. Fixed price after a photo.

Do you come to me or do I bring something?

We come to you — repairs are best done where the piece lives. Exception: loose parts that are complicated.

Repair in Zurich is sustainable — and cheap

In Zurich, many households throw out working furniture because a 5-franc hinge has failed. That's expensive, environmentally wasteful, and unnecessary. We see furniture repair not as a stopgap but as a deliberate choice — for furniture that still has structure, and for a city that produces less bulk waste.
